Our Geese
Had plenty of laughs this morning with presenter Luke Deal celebrating Cow Appreciation Day with BBC Radio Suffolk…bottle fed Viv and border collie Buzz took front and centre stage…listen in to Sarah Lilley’s Show at 11.30 this morning !
After avian flu “lockdown” it was lovely to finally get some of the goslings out in the paddock enjoying the sun and grass, they are growing really quickly and starting to get their proper feathers now. We have a mix of Embdens, Legarth x, Dewlap toulouse and Brecon Buffs.
Yes it may only be January ( and tradition holds that the first goose eggs arrive on Valentine’s Day!) but our birds have got started early this year, order from our online shop!
We had a great time at the 2018 Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival – our Pasture for Life certified – 30 day hung Belted Galloway Beef attracted lots of customers and for something different the free range smoked goose went down a treat too! We are already looking forward to next year!
The arrival of our day old goslings is always an exciting day – at the moment they are still in the barn under heat lamps but if the weather stays fair they will be outside in the fields very soon.
